Hey kids... just some random thoughts from the Afternoon Guy..... Rememer back in the day when the holiday specials only aired ONCE during the season? Nowadays if you miss a show( RUDOPLH, CHARLIE BROWN, etc) you know that you can catch it again, it's not like back in the day where it only had one showing and if you missed then you were pretty much out of luck that year!!! When and how did this change?

I've realized two things lately....1 that I'm getting older and 2.. I don't really care.... I realized this a few days ago walking to work. I realized that I was getting older when a reached for an umbrella cause it was raining out, and then I realzed I didn't care about getting older when the umbrella that I grabbed was a HUGE red and white one, that got many a looks, mostly from wet people... I and realized I didn't care that I weas carrying a huge gaudy umbrella, at least I was DRY!!!!!

A New Era...

Well.. it's almost official the next President of the United States is Barack Obama! Record numbers turned out to vote including new voters galore! (I admit to shaming one of my best friends into voting for the first time!!!) And oh yeah congrats to John 'Jack' Diamond for winning the mayoral race in my hometown of Glens Falls, the great thing about this election in Glens Falls is that the candidates were friends going in and friends going out.. that's kind of what it is all about right?......

And remember the one thing I've been saying all along,... if you didn't vote you can't bitch! well ok I said complain on the air, but hey i figure I can get away with it on-line ;-)

When did it get so cold??

So seriously when did it get so damn cold in the morning? I know that I'm not a morning person but I wasn't prepared for the 20 degree temp this morning we I drove my wife to work. I had to put on my winter jacket and was still shivvering!!!! Oh well, I guess I may be a bit of a sally when it comes to that.

Well, I just wanted to get that off my chest......

One more quick thing... MNF tonight Broncos at Pats... GO DENVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it really October already?

Man, I can't believe that it's already October!! I guess my first clue should have been the fact the it's getting dark when I leave the office at 7pm, but I guess I've just been trying to block it out! Can't wait for leaves to start falling...haha yeah right! I'll probably do what I did last year, which was to wait until the spring to clean them up! Hey I do believe that I've mentioned the fact that I'm a slacker numerous times!!

The cool thing about it being Fall is the fact the all my favorite TV shows are back on, although I do have to admit the Season premiere of the Final season of ER had me sitting on my couch with tears rolling down my face(yes I'm a man and can admit that a tv show made me all misty-eyed.) I mean come on they killed off my FAVORITE charactor, not to mention one that shared my name. (In case you were wondering it was Dr. Greg Pratt who was played by Mekhi Phifer) Other than that though, the new TV season has been pretty good, but I have to admit that my DVR is working overtime!

The Kings of Stupid Mountain have been very busy gigging just about every weekend, sometimes twice a weekend!! And everything is going well, I'm really lucky that I found a great group of guys (musician-wise and friend-wise) to be in a band with. The other cool thing about Fall is the Apple picking! I'll be back at Saratoga Apple this Sunday morning from 9a-11a, bring the kids and take a wagon ride into the orchards, and pick your own apples, it really is a cool experience!!

Howdy...long time no blog....

Hey what's happenin' in cyberspace? I know that it's been a long time since I've done a blog, but hey just like everyone else the first few weeks of summer can be kind of crazy!

First off, let me say a big thanks you to everyone who came out and supported at Summer Jam 2008!! It was an absolute blast and I would love to do it every week, but I think Pete from CKM's head would explode!!! Which would be entertaining itself, but I digress... If you missed Summer Jam there are pics up on the Hits website just look for the Summer Jam logo on the main page!

To update, the deck is completed and actually has railings!! The even cooler part about the railings is that I did them completely by myself with out help from my friend Billy!!! It amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it!!

Ok that's all for now cause I've got pay attention to this whole radio thing!!!

I am a SLACKER!!!!

Hey kids what's happenin? I thought that I would do a blog considering that it's been awhile, but hey like the title says, I'm a slacker, I was born a slacker, and I will probably die a slacker too. This weekend however, my wife is going to make the slacker work!!! That's right I'm actually going to build a deck in my back yard... now I know what you're thinking...They actually let me use power tools?, and the answer is yeah...sometimes. But don't worry my buddy Bill will be there and he is quite handy, unlike me! In fact my house wouldn't be as nice as it is if it weren't for Billy!

Of course Mother's day is Sunday, I'm not sure what my mom and I are going to do, I may take her to see Iron Man, now I know what you're thinking, why would my mom want to see that? Well the truth is is that my mom is the one that got me hooked on Star Wars and superhero movies so it should be right up her alley...

Well I guess that's all for now, I'll blog again soon, when I remember to stop being such a slacker!!!

Spring!!

So I guess that you can officially say that Spring has finally arrived!!! Woo Hoo!!! Now don't get me wrong I like the warmer weather and all that I just can't stand the yard work that has to be done before it can be enjoyed! But alas mine is almost done!!! And when it's completed I can really begin to enjoy the nice weather when I put up what I call "the Palace" which is a little gazebo type thing that I put up in my back yard. The wife can't stand it but it makes for a great place for the Kings of Stupid Mountain to hang out when she gets sick of us!! Hey, speaking of The Kings, you can join us this saturday night at the Full Moon we start the jams around 9:30!!!

Well I suppose that I should get back to my real job so until next time...

My first blog.. I think I'll name it PROCRASTINATION!!!

Well, My blog has been set up for over a week now and I figure that I have procrastinated enough about it so here we go! The thing I like about blogging is the fact that I can be a bit scatter brained when I write them, I mean they could go anywhere.. I might talk about stuff on Hits or I might talk about my band ,The Kings of Stupid Mountain, or even I might even talk about stuff that just kind of gets me going.....like can you believe how dumb the girls were who taped themselves beating another student?!! I mean, really,how stupid can you get...It's like handing the cops all the evidence they would even need and saying.."YES I'D LOVE TO GO TO JAIL! no wait not jail, PRISON!!!! Cause that's probably what's going to happen to them....

But anyways, thanks for stopping by a checking out Pratt's Place I'll probably post a new blog a couple of times a week so check back soon!!
